Before you start

What you need on hand

Three things, all of which your company should already have:

Your MyTax login

The director's login at mytax.hasil.gov.my (NRIC + password). If you've never used MyTax, register there first — LHDN has a first-time PIN process.

Your company's TIN

Shown in MyTax after you log in. Sdn Bhd companies have a TIN starting with C. Enterprise / sole proprietor businesses use the owner's personal TIN starting with IG.

Your business registration number (SSM)

The new 12-digit format, e.g. 202401012345. Enterprise owners: also have your NRIC number ready — LHDN pairs personal TINs with NRIC, not the business number.

Sdn Bhd companies: after logging into MyTax, use Switch Taxpayer (top-right menu) to act as the company — the steps below must be done under the company profile, not your personal one.
Part A · LHDN side

Activate MyInvois for your company

One-time registration on LHDN's e-Invoice portal. If your company has already used MyInvois before, skip to Part B.

1

Log in at mytax.hasil.gov.my

Then click MyInvois in the top menu. First-time users will see a 4-step "Self register taxpayer profile" wizard.

2

Accept the terms, complete the Taxpayer Profile

Most fields are pre-filled from LHDN's records. For the required fields you may not have:

  • SST Registration Number — type NA if your company is not SST-registered
  • Tourism Tax Registration Number — type NA (almost everyone)
  • Postcode / Telephone — fill in your real ones (the form won't submit if these are empty)
3

Complete the User Profile and finish

Enter a notification e-mail, click through to "Registration Completed!", then click Finish Setup to enter the MyInvois Portal.

Part B · API keys

Register ClarityERP and get your keys

This tells LHDN "ClarityERP is allowed to submit invoices for my company", and gives you a Client ID + Secret — like a username and password for the connection.

1

Open your Taxpayer Profile

In the MyInvois Portal, click your initials (top-right) → View Taxpayer Profile.

2

Click "Register ERP"

In the Representatives section. Fill in:

  • ERP Name: ClarityERP
  • Client Secret expiration: 3 Year (so you don't have to redo this every year)
  • Tick Primary ERP System

Then click Register.

3

Copy your Client ID and Client Secret 1

They appear once only. Copy all three values (Client ID, Secret 1, Secret 2) somewhere safe before clicking Done.

LHDN never shows the secret again. If you lose it, it's not the end of the world — just register a new ERP entry and get fresh keys — but save yourself the trouble: store them in a password manager now.
Part C · ClarityERP side

Connect ClarityERP to MyInvois

Now switch to ClarityERP. Everything here is in Settings → e-Invoice (owner login required).

1

Fill in your e-Invoice Identity

FieldWhat to put
Supplier TINYour company TIN (C…) or personal TIN (IG…) exactly as shown in MyTax
Owner NRICEnterprise only: your IC number (12 digits, no dashes). Sdn Bhd can leave blank
MSIC CodeYour 5-digit industry code — it's shown on your MyInvois Taxpayer Profile page, or search "MSIC code list" (e.g. 73100 = advertising, 46900 = wholesale)
Tax Type02 Service Tax if SST-registered for services, 01 Sales Tax for goods, 06 Not Applicable if not SST-registered
Registered AddressSplit into line / postcode / city / state — must match a real address

Turn the toggle on and click Save e-Invoice Settings.

2

Paste your API keys

In the MyInvois API Connection card below:

  • Environment: Production (real LHDN)
  • Client ID + Client Secret: paste the values from Part B

Click Save & Connect. ClarityERP immediately does a real login to LHDN — you should see "Connected to MyInvois ✓". If it fails, re-check the ID/Secret for extra spaces.

Your secret is safe. It's stored server-side, never shown again in the app, and never leaves the system — staff can't see it, and ClarityERP itself never files anything without you clicking Submit.
Part D · Your customers

Prepare your buyer records

LHDN validates the buyer on every e-Invoice too. Two minutes per customer, once.

1

Business customers (B2B)

Open CRM → Account, edit each customer and fill the e-Invoice fields: Buyer TIN, Reg. No (BRN), and their city / state / postcode. Ask your customer for their TIN — every registered business has one, and they need yours too.

2

Walk-in / personal customers (B2C)

Buyers without a TIN fall under LHDN's General Public rule: the invoice line classification must be 004 — Consolidated e-Invoice. ClarityERP checks this for you and will tell you before you submit.

Part E · Go

Submit your first e-Invoice

1

Open any invoice → click the e-Invoice button

In Finance & Account → Invoices, every row has an e-Invoice icon. The panel shows a checklist — anything missing is listed with exactly where to fix it.

2

Click "Submit to LHDN" (twice, to confirm)

Validation usually takes a few seconds. When it turns green you get the official UIN, a QR code, and a View on MyInvois link.

3

Print or send as usual

The validated invoice's A4 printout automatically carries the LHDN QR code — your customer can scan it to verify the invoice is real. Made a mistake? You have 72 hours to cancel and resubmit.

FAQ

Common questions

Not today. ClarityERP submits using LHDN's v1.0 document format, which does not require a digital signature. When LHDN retires v1.0, we'll guide you through adding a certificate — until then, RM0.
Annual turnover below RM1 million: fully exempt (you can still do it voluntarily). RM1–5 million: mandatory since 1 Jan 2026, with a relaxation period until 31 Dec 2027 — but single transactions above RM10,000 must be individually e-Invoiced now. Above RM5 million: already mandatory.
Your Supplier TIN in Settings doesn't match the MyTax account that registered the ERP — or, for Enterprise businesses, the Owner NRIC field is empty. Personal "IG" TINs must be paired with your NRIC, not the business SSM number.
No. Only the workspace owner can set or change API credentials. Staff with finance or sales permission can submit e-Invoices, but never see the keys.
Within 72 hours: click Cancel e-Invoice on the same panel (LHDN asks for a reason), fix the invoice, submit again. After 72 hours: issue a credit note instead — ClarityERP supports those too.
